""The confined, reduced space had a positive effect and the resident's day/night rhythm recovered.""

De Wever care center, Tilburg

De Wever care center

Situation
A patient with dementia often got out of bed and therefore had a problematic day-night rhythm. To solve this problem, the doctor and nurse decided to try the Posey canopy bed, to which the patient responded very well. The confined space calmed the patient and he returned to a normal day-night rhythm. The "small, confined space" was the main reason the patient calmed down, so the team decided to try the FeelSafe Go because it's non-restraining.

Result
As with the Posey bed, the patient responded very well to the small confined space of the FeelSafe Go. He did get up a few times during the first few nights, but as there was no danger of falling out of bed, this was not seen as a problem. After a week, he got up less often and returned to his normal day-night rhythm. The team concluded that the confined space was sufficient for the patient to sleep better.

"“Our patients retain their freedom within a confined space (canopy bed). This allows us to reduce the use of direct physical restraints on the body and sedative drugs.”"
