Phototherapy is the most common treatment for reducing high bilirubin levels that cause jaundice with newborns. The aim is to expose the baby’s skin to as much light as possible to break down bilirubin. The baby’s eyes are covered to protect the nerve layer at the back of the eye (retina) from the bright light.
The Blinky Adhesive protects the child’s eyes from the bright UV light of phototherapy. The blinky can be applied with non-irritating, non-allergic adhesive tabs attach bilaterally to baby’s temples.
